HONORS VIDEO FOR HELP WITH #11-12 ON TODAY'S PRACTICE WORKSHEET (1-5-15)

https://www.khanacademy.org/video/graphs-of-absolute-value-functions

Click on the link for the video and use the method in the video to find the vertex of the absolute value graph. Once you find the vertex, use a table to find one more point and then reflect that point over the vertex. This will work for #11-12 on Monday's practice. I tried using the slope and that didn't work.

PLUS CLASS FIRST WEEK OF THE NEW YEAR

MONDAY: we revisited section 5.1 (writing equations) and we started section 5.2 and covered examples 1 and 2. Class practice came from section 5.2 and correlated with those two examples. Your homework is section 5.2 exercises 17-22. You received a class participation/accuracy grade for your work at the board today.

TUESDAY: we will review the homework and practice writing equations when we are given the slope and one point, two points on the line and from the graph of a given line. This practice will come from worksheets, so if you are absent, email me for that material.

WEDNESDAY: we will write equations in point-slope form (section 5.3). Class practice: page 305 3-12 and 20-28. Homework: practice worksheet.

THURSDAY: we will review the homework and then you will have a QUIZ on sections 5.1 through 5.3.

FRIDAY: I will return your quiz and we will discuss the results. If you failed the quiz, you will bring it with you when you work with Ms. Eckendorf on Monday and review/correct your mistakes. We will work with standard form, and parallel and perpendicular lines with respect to writing equations. Practice problems will be on the back of Wednesday's worksheet. Homework: page 314 11-16 and page 322 3-8 and 18-23. Show all work neatly in your notebook.

MY HELP NIGHT IS WEDNESDAY IN ROOM 118 3:00-3:40.
